The Postpartum TCu380A IUD, also called copper IUD, is a long-acting reversible contraception device. The T-shaped frame, 32mm wide and 36mm long, carries copper with a total surface area of 380 mm square. The final commercial product of copper bearing TCu380 IUD packed together with insertion tube and treated with terminal sterilization is marketed as Postpartum TCu380A IUD. The Post partum TCu380A IUD comes in packs of 50 or as specified by the manufacturer. Postpartum Cu T 380 A IUD is an intrauterine contraceptive device having a copper wire wound on to the stem of T Frame , with a nylon monofilament suture thread tied to the rectangle base of the T Frame. The suture tied T frame shall be loaded in plastic insertion tube to facilitate the insertion of the device in to the uterine cavity.
