Material: Recycled cardboard with plastic film, strong (waterproof and puncture-proof.)
Thickness of walls: 1.1 - 4.4mm
Container with 5 L capacity accommodating approximately 100 syringes
Dimensions: approx. 284 x 162 x 129mm when set up.
Notching system for hermetic sealing (inferior and superior parts)
Diameter of syringe insert hole: 30-38mm
Features: Boxes should be equipped with a carrying handle and have directions for use and destruction printed on the box.
Distributed and stored in collapsible form
Single use: to be destroyed with its contents by incineration. Upon incineration, the material of construction shall not release any ozone depleting chemicals.
Marking instructions on each safety box:
Bio-hazard marking: marked with the international bio-hazard warning not less than 50 mm diameter, printed in black of red on each of the front and back faces of the box.
Pictorial instructions: without writing printed on two sides of the container showing:
• How to assemble the box.
• How to use the box as a container for contaminated sharps;
• Syringe disposal direction (needle down).
• How to close the sharps aperture when the box is full.
Instructions for use:
Puncture resistant containers for collecting and disposing of used disposable and auto-disable syringes, needles and other injection materials must be provided and used in all immunization activities.
These containers reduce the risk posed by contaminated needles and syringes to health staff and to the general public. To be destroyed with its contents by incineration.
